Chief Justus
Chief Justus is a 35 year veteran of the Fire Service. Justus started with the Hiram Fire Department in 1988 as a Cadet Firefighter. In 1996, Justus was hired by the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department in Portage County, Ohio.
Justus became a full time firefighter in 2000, a Lieutenant in 2004, and a Captain in 2017. In March 2021, Justus left the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department to become Chief of the
Madison Township Fire Department.
Justus has education and training as a Full Time Firefighter, Paramedic, Fire Investigator, Certified Fire Safety Inspector, Hazardous Materials Technician, and is pursuing an Associates Degree in Fire Science. In addition to his Firefighting background, Justus worked for 27 years as a Police Officer and was a K-9 handler for 7 years.

Captain Wesley A. Green

Captain Green is a 30 year veteran of the Fire Service. Green initially began his time as a volunteer firefighter with the Monroe-Lucas Fire Department in 1993. Green attended Hocking College where he received his Paramedic certification. Green was first hired full time in Mifflin Twp. Fire Department but came to Madison in 1998. Green was promoted to Lieutenant in 2000 and Captain in 2004.

Captain Mike Shears

Captain Shears started as a volunteer firefighter with the Madison Township Fire Department in 1991. Hired full time in 2001. Captain Shears has progressed through the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain. He currently commands the Maintenance and Fire Prevention Bureaus. Captain Shears obtained his Paramedic certification in 2001. He is also a Fire Inspector and Investigator.
Captain Rodney Lambert
Fire Prevention / Public Education
Captain Lambert began his time at the Madison Fire Department in 2003. In 2007, he was promoted to full-time status. In 2022, Lambert became Lieutenant. In 2023, he was promoted to Captain.
Captain Lambert is a Paramedic, Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Investigator and Fire Instructor. Lambert oversees the Fire Prevention Bureau of the Fire Department which includes inspections for code compliance and enforcement, public safety education and other prevention duties.
Administrative Assistant Deb Scheurer
Administrative Assistant Scheurer has been with the Madison Fire Department since the summer of 2006. She has worked for 6 Fire Chiefs and 2 Acting Fire Chiefs in her time at Madison. She is an invaluable piece of the Fire Department and keeps the Department running on a day to day basis. Deb is responsible to oversee billing, payroll, scheduling, purchasing, correspondence, and many other tasks.
