The Madison Township Fire Department was formed in July 1971 and was originally a Volunteer Fire Department. Over the years, the Fire Department has grown into a Combination Full-Time / Part-Time Fire Department that offers the following services:

- Hydrant Maintenance / Hydrant Inspection Program
The Madison Township Fire Department has a Public Protection Classification Level of 3 as determined by the ISO (Insurance Services Office). Currently, the Madison Township Fire Department has the highest rating by ISO of all the Fire Departments in Richland County.
The Madison Township Fire Department is staffed 24 hours a day / 7 days a week by trained Firefighter / Paramedics.
