Fire Department Apparatus


LADDER 71

Ladder 71 is a 2007 Spartan/Smeal 75′ Aerial Ladder/Quint. This truck was originally purchased by the Mansfield City Fire Department in 2006 with funds from an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from FEMA. in 2022, the truck’s ownership was transferred to Madison Township. This truck is equipped with a 1500 Gallon Per Minute (GPM) pump and a 500 gallon water tank. In addition, the truck is equipped with Class A Foam. It is the primary structural response truck for the Madison Fire Department and carries all of the Heavy Rescue Equipment.


ENGINE 72

Engine 72 is a 2019 HME Custom Cab Engine that is capable of pumping 1,250 Gallons Per Minute (GPM) and has a tank capacity of 1600 Gallons of Water.
This truck is equipped with Compressed Air Foam (CAFS) and a Class A Foam.
The truck was purchased in 2019 with assistance from a USDA Grant and Low Interest Loan.



ENGINE 74

Engine 74 is a 2019 HME Custom Cab Engine capable of 1,250 Gallons per Minute (GPM) with a tank capacity of 1600 gallons of water. Equipped with Compressed Air Foam (CAFS) and Class A Foam. This truck was purchased with monies from an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from FEMA.


TANKER 71

Tanker 71 is a 2023 Freightliner / Pierce Tanker.  This truck has a 1,250 Gallon Per Minute (GPM) Pump and has a 3,000 Gallon Water Tank.  It was purchased in the Fall of 2021 and due to industry delays, was completed in June of this year.  It is equipped with a 3,000 Gallon Portable Water Tank for Water Shuttle Operations.  It also has a full hose bed and can carry over 1,000 feet of large diameter supply hose. 


CAR 71

Car 71 is a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Special Service Vehicle. It is equipped with a Command Cabinet which houses maps, emergency building pre-plans, contact information for various businesses, and multiple forms of communication. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with some Medical Equipment and some Basic Firefighting Equipment. This vehicle is assigned to the Fire Chief and is used by the Fire Chief to respond to emergencies day and night.

UTILITY 71

Utility 71 is a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup Truck. This unit serves multiple roles at the Madison Fire Department. It responds to assist the Medic Units, handles Carbon Monoxide Investigations, responds to power lines and trees down, hauls manpower during large incidents, hauls equipment back from large incidents, and is used day to day travel for various tasks. This unit is also equipped with a Western Snow Plow and is used to plow the parking lots at both fire stations in the winter in addition to plowing driveways during emergencies.


UTILITY 73

Utility 73 is a 2022 Polaris Ranger with a QTAC Skid unit for Fire and Rescue. It was purchased in 2021 through donations from various organizations. It has the ability to perform firefighting and also perform rescue operations. It has a 70 gallon water tank with a 25 gallon per minute pump and hose reel. It also carries our
“Stokes Basket” stretcher for off road and remote rescues. It is kept on a trailer and is always ready to respond wherever it is needed.
